Last Sunday, our church had a surprise for all of us, its members. The Living Word Ministries treated each one of us with lunch. So, after the services, we were led to go to the gym hall where tall tables were neatly arranged and decorated in blue linens trimmed with green tulle. Balloons were strewn all over in a festive mood with purple orchids adorning the tables. There were lots of food and drinks along with the waiters, servers and ushers at your beck and call. Food choices were grilled sandwich, roast beef, chips and homemade cookies for dessert. It was like going to formal gala where the ambiance is relaxed yet ebullient.
But what struck me the most was the music lilting around. In the center stage of the hall, were three boys and a woman rendering a combo of Christmas ditties, classical soundscapes and Ibiza-like tunes. Later I found out that they are a family--the mother on piano, a 15 year old boy on cello, a 12 year old boy and his twin brother on violin and viola respectively. They are called the Taubl family, whose passion and career are music. They are a bunch of talented musicians from the father, to the mother and all their 7 children. All of the children; three girls and 4 boys are musical prodigies (not all of them performed that day in church). And all of them are Christians whose forte are classical, inspirational and Christian music.
I find it amazing since the parents were able to instill discipline and passion for something on their children at such an early age. This takes a whole lot of parenting skills---committing your children to lead Christian lives, motivating them for a passion in music and fostering a harmonious family relationship.
The Taubl family whose talents are so impressive that they rose to America's Got Talent Semi -Finals this year. From New Haven, Connecticut (where I also currently live), this musical group has wowed Americans with their performance, singing voice and style. I am posting their video from America's Got Talent and the judges' drop-the-jaw remarks.
I wish I had a family like this. Are you also blown away by their talents too and their spirit as a family?

Bingkee, what a treat for your congregation. Those Taubl kids are so sweet and talented. My family enjoyed them on America's got talent. How wonderful to know they're being raised in a God loving family and using their talents to glorify Him.
